Mike took Carson fishing at a pond here in Brigham City last week. They had a lot of fun, but didn't catch anything.

Summer Fun

The weather finally got hot here! We've been trying to find a way to stay cool. Here are some pictures of our efforts!

Carson playing at a friend's house. He didn't really want to get wet, but kept saying how much fun he was having.

Mike decided Carson needed a slip-and-slide. They had a blast playing with it in the backyard.

Carson running through some water spray from the hose.

A Trip to the Zoo

Last Saturday we went to Hogle Zoo with some of our Brigham City friends. They have a little boy that is just a few months older than Carson. The two were really cute and Carson was super excited to see all of the animals.

Here's Carson checking out the elephants.

The two boys rode in this wagon most of the day. Here they are consulting the map. Every time Carson got back in the wagon he had to get his map out. Super cute! (But, I am biased!)Carson loved taking a drink out of the lion's mouth. Even today he asked me if he could get another drink from the lion.

Hair Cut

Carson was in desperate need of a haircut this week. Here's the before and after just to give you an idea!

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

We visited my parents last weekend and while we were there we went to Jackson Hole to visit my sister who is working there. She works at the Bar T 5. We also went on the Alpine Slide and Carson's first chairlift ride while we were there. The Bar T 5 hosts a wagon ride, dinner and show. It was tons of fun and Carson keeps talking about how we need to go on another "laggon" ride to see Aunt Shanae and the "horseys". (Just click on the pictures to make them bigger)

Carson's "Scrippers"

On Sunday Carson was deeply interested in Mike's scriptures. He wanted to hold them and "read" them and then he asked where his own scriptures were. So, Mike found him a Book of Mormon of his very own. He carries it around and tries to "read" it. This particular Book of Mormon has some pictures in the beginning of it. Here's a conversation we had this morning:

Carson: Mommy, I found Jesus.

Me: (I was getting breakfast ready and wasn't looking at him) Oh, where is he?

Carson (with a big smile): In my scrippers. Mommy, Jesus was hiding in my scrippers!!!!

This afternoon I had him lay on his bed for his nap and he begged me to let him hold the Book of Mormon. I finally let him (I usually don't let him play or read anything in bed). I discovered that reading scriptures make him sleepy too! In a few minutes he was totally asleep. Yet another reason why I'm thankful for the Book of Mormon!

Baby Animal Days

We took Carson to Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center. It was so much fun.

Here he is with the bunny. He LOVES to wear sunglasses. Mike and Carson checking out the baby chicks.
The lamb.
A baby turtle.
A toad.
At the end of the day he was still smiling. . .A great sign!

Spring is in the air. . .

It got a little bit warmer here this past week and Carson and I ventured outside. As you can see from his red nose, it wasn't really warm, but we had fun.

Carson is the kind of kid that will usually only fall asleep in his bed, but lately he can fall asleep on the couch. I think it's really cute.
